Integrating Telemedicine and Artificial Intelligence for Improving Chronic Disease Management in Low-Resource Settings
Main Article Content
Abstract
Chronic diseases such as diabetes, cardiovascular disorders, and respiratory illnesses present an enormous healthcare burden globally, particularly in low-resource settings where healthcare access is limited. The integration of telemedicine and artificial intelligence (AI) offers a transformative solution to overcome barriers such as geographical distance, shortage of medical professionals, and insufficient healthcare infrastructure. This article explores the synergistic potential of telemedicine and AI to enhance early diagnosis, personalize treatment, and improve long-term monitoring of chronic diseases. The study highlights successful case applications, challenges in digital adoption, and strategies for sustainable implementation in low-resource environments. By bridging healthcare inequities, the integration of these technologies has the potential to strengthen healthcare delivery, reduce costs, and improve patient outcomes worldwide.
