Medical Imaging and Phenotypic Modeling for Early Screening of Neurodegenerative Disorders
Main Article Content
Abstract
The early screening and diagnosis of neurodegenerative disorders represent a critical frontier in contemporary medical research and clinical practice. Conditions such as Alzheimer disease, Parkinson disease, and frontotemporal dementia pose monumental challenges to global healthcare systems due to their insidious onset and progressive trajectory. This paper presents a comprehensive examination of the integration of advanced medical imaging modalities with complex phenotypic modeling to facilitate the early identification of neurodegenerative pathologies. By synthesizing high-dimensional neuroimaging data with deep clinical phenotyping, cognitive assessments, and omics profiles, researchers can construct multidimensional biomarker profiles that precede clinical manifestations by years or even decades. The study explores the evolution of structural and functional imaging techniques alongside the rapid advancements in computational models designed to capture phenotypic heterogeneity. Furthermore, we analyze a theoretical methodological framework for processing and harmonizing multimodal datasets, extracting robust predictive features, and deploying advanced classification algorithms. Through rigorous analysis of model performance metrics, interpretability, and clinical relevance, this research underscores the transformative potential of combining imaging and phenotypic data. The findings suggest that such integrated models significantly outperform traditional single-modality approaches in prognostic accuracy, offering a viable pathway toward precision medicine and personalized therapeutic interventions in neurology.
